Momentum Animated Product Explainer Video

 

Momentum is a no-code platform to automate sales workflows. By embedding into existing sales-first tooling, from Slack and Salesforce to Asana and Outreach, Momentum gives revenue teams the building blocks it needs to operationalize sales and improve efficiency.

 

The need

We met with Momentum to help them prepare for their Product Hunt launch by creating an animated video that would present their product. They were also doing a new website launch, so they were interested in creating a video that would capture their new design.

Phase 1

 

Creative development

We began this project by connecting with Momentum’s team. We hosted several brainstorming sessions, as their input was critical to the creative development process. They pointed out the main features that should be included in the video and their interest in using motion graphics.

Phase 2

 

Pre-production

Once we settled on the main features we wanted the video to highlight, we moved into pre-production and agreed on a schedule to guide us through the various production phases.

First, we created a script that included the visuals and text we wanted to have on-screen. We did a script review with our graphic designer and animator to ensure we were all on the same page. We agreed on the video’s tone, the visuals we were looking for, the type of animation, the color palette, and the assets to work with. We were looking to create this video using the same designs as Momentum’s new website in order to enhance the branding, so Momentum’s team shared their assets through Figma. Then, we met again to review the first storyboard, scenes, and music options.

Phase 3

 

Production

Production began once the general scenes were approved and the storyboard draft was complete. Our designer presented the first design, model and textures draft, and the final soundtrack that the client selected. This process required active involvement and feedback from Momentum’s team, so we met often to review our progress and find the exact tone we needed.

Once all the screens were settled, our designer could finish all the animation and rendering.

Phase 4

 

Post Production

The video editing took four full days for sound design, color corrections, and SFX.

The deliverables

The final video was a 1:10 animated explainer video film. It was featured on Product Hunt as a part of their launch strategy to introduce Momentum, their new website, and their branding. They earned the #2 Product of the Day spot!
